Shopping Centre Update

Latest Information – 2nd Dec 2020

The Swan Shopping Centre’s utmost priority is to ensure the safety and wellbeing of its customers.

Following the latest government announcement, many of The Swan’s stores will be reopening from Wednesday 2nd December 2020.

As the centre is within a Tier 3 area, restaurants and dining outlets remain closed for dine-in.

For a full list of which outlets remain open and those which will remain open for takeaway and click and collect services, please review our Covid-19 opening times.

Thank you,

The Swan Shopping Centre – Management Team

Shopping Centre Measures

A number of safety measures are in place at the shopping centre. We ask that everyone follows these to make their experience, and that of other shoppers, as safe and enjoyable as possible when they visit us.  By doing this, we will be able to continue supporting the needs of our community.

We would also ask that everyone is considerate to the centre’s staff, those working in the stores and to other shoppers when visiting us.  We so appreciate the support already received from local people during this challenging time.

Published opening times may change at short notice as situations change, so we’d strongly recommend that you check our latest opening times before visiting us for the most up to date information.  These can be found here.

Social Distancing

In line with government guidance, we would ask that visitors to the centre continue to practice social distancing and maintain a minimum 2m distance.

The centre has put in place stickers and posters along the mall as a reminder to continue to socially distance during your visit.

Visiting Our Stores

There will be a maximum number of people allowed into each store at one time (this number will vary according to that store’s individual policy) and the public will be asked to queue outside in a socially distanced manner until it’s their turn to enter the store.

Floor stickers have been put in place to help people maintain a 2m distance whilst waiting outside each store. People must be responsible for their children when visiting the stores to ensure that they maintain social distancing.

One Way System

A one-way system has been implemented throughout the centre to help maintain social distancing.  Individual shopping lanes have been created and floor stickers are in place to help guide visitors.

Hand Cleaning

We would ask that you clean your hands regularly during your visit.

This can be done within the centre’s Public Toilets or at a number of Hand Sanitising Stations which have been installed at regular intervals along the mall.

Outdoor Seating

All outdoor seating has been temporarily cordoned off or removed from the malls.

Public Toilets

The public toilets at The Swan are open for you to use. We have closed off some of the sinks and cubicles within the toilets to help maintain social distancing and we have also replaced the hand dryers with paper towel dispensers as recommended in government guidance.  The toilets will be cleaned at regular intervals by a dedicated cleaner.

Increased cleaning provisions have been put in place, with additional deep cleaning of public areas and toilet facilities to ensure the highest possible level of cleanliness throughout the centre.  Surfaces will be sanitised at regular intervals.

The Swan Shopping Centre Staff

Our centre team will be on hand as always to help you during your visit and can advise on any queries you have.

Management staff, security, cleaners and other public-facing members of the team will wear PPE including face masks and gloves whilst working on-site to maintain their safety and the safety of others.

A full training programme has been implemented for staff, so they are able to carry out their work and continue to help the public, whilst maintaining social distancing.

Bring Your Mask

It is now mandatory to wear a face covering in shops and supermarkets across England, so please bring your mask with you when you visit the centre.

We’d also recommend that visitors wear their mask in the public areas of the centre as well as in stores where possible.
